Italian astronomer Galileo was the most renowned scientist of the renaissance period. Galileo embraced the theories of Nicholas Copernicus, Which rejected the ancient view that planets revolve around the earth and stated instead that the planets revolve around the sun (the heliocentric).

Attack 2 :
Galileo's own experiment confirmed heliocentrism. Galileo tried to reconcile Copernican theory win the bible, arguing that astronomical facts must be based be based on scientific observation rather than on scripture.
