Leeuwenhoek is usually credited as the father of microbiology for his contributions. He was also the inventor of the first microscope as well as creating the cell theory in 1674.

Attack 2 : Leeuwenhoek's Legacy
A year before he died he wrote about the illness he had, now known as Leeuwenhoek's disease. In his death his family sold most of his microscopes, leaving 11 out of the 500 he made. He was buried in Delft. He created the groundwork for more and more scientific discoveries as time went on.
