Attack 1 : stallion iron hooves
Boxer is the strongest animal on the farm, "an enormous beast, nearly eighteen hands high, and as strong as any two ordinary horses put together he was not of first-rate intelligence, but he was universally respected for his steadiness of character and tremendous powers of work" . These are great qualities for a horse, but as it turn out not such great qualities for a revolutionary under Stalin's government.

Attack 2 : Thunder hooves
At first, things seem to be going well. He's a hard worker, making "I will work harder" into his personal motto . He's a brave fighter, and the narrator tells us that, during the Battle of the Cowshed, "the most terrifying spectacle of all was Boxer, rearing up on his hind legs and striking out with his great iron-shod hoofs like a stallion" .
