Emilie is the daughter of Thesues and Hippolyta. While working in the garden one day she is stared upon by Arcite and Palamon. Neither of the two can decide who gets Emilie, so they fight.Seeing this her father sets up a duel for the two, each with an army, to duke it out. After her father sets up the duel between the two, she is told she will marry the victor. In the end Arcite is victorious, but Arcite tells her to marry Palamon.
