The epipelagic zone extends from the surface to 200 meters. Marine life is more abundant here than at any lower depths, because phytoplankton can only exist in this zone.

Attack 2 : Threats
Overfishing is a huge threat. Huge numbers of predator fish especially are being taken away which severely damages the ecosystem. Human pollution is another major threat. Pollution from boats, especially oils and plastics are extremely harmful
