challenging social structure to the extent of how people choose to live their life. This is because he has seen men spend their whole lives working for money and a pace in society, with no freedom for themselves

Comments : During the 1700’s, men would give up their freedom just to have money and a job, even if their job was working to benefit someone else. Rousseau was challenging this way of thinking because he thought that it was unfair to everyone for only a few people to have freedom. I think the Rousseau would want a free government where everybody is free and can think whatever he wants to think without bringing thrown in jail for the rest of the life for saying something about the king
