King Menes was the first pharaoh of Egypt and the founder of the 1st Dynasty. He was said to be the person who united Upper and Lower Egypt to create one kingdom. He also created the city of Memphis which is located on an island in the Nile river. The cause of his death currently remains as a mystery, but some theories and stories say that he was attacked by wild dogs, a crocodile, or even a hippopotamus.
