Leda was the queen of Sparta. She was seduced by Zeus who was in the shape of a swan. In one version Leda laid an egg which hatched Polydeukes and Helen.

Helen later went on to become the reason for the Trojan war. Polydeukes who was in the other egg went on to join the expedition of the Argonauts.
