The Tsushima, Japan (or Kuroshio), Liman & Okhotsk currents are the main currents around Japan. The Japan & Tsushima currents come from the warm, south Pacific and bring warmer temperatures to the Honshu, Kyushu and Shikoku islands. On the other hand, the Okhotsk & Liman currents sweep cold water down from the northeast Pacific, bringing nourishment and improving the fishing.
