The tow gods gave him a scythe and a shield. When Perseus found Medusa they fought eachother. perseus used his shield to see the reflectoin of Medusa. at the right moment he cut her head off. He broght the head back to King Polydectes. When perseus showed the head to King Polydectes he turned him to stone.
