Icelanders are a North Germanic ethnic group and nation who are native to the island country of Iceland and speak Icelandic. Icelanders found the country in mid 930 A.D when the Parliament met for the first time.The icelanders also known for “The Land of Fire and Ice” are home to some of the largest glaciers in Europe,and some of the most biggest volcanoes in the world! The iceland is also known to be very dark and light at the same time. The main settlement in New Iceland was Gimli. Other rural areas of Manitoba settled by Icelanders include Lundar on Lake Manitoba:Glenboro, in the southwestern region of the province: Selkirk, north of Winnipeg: and Morden to the south. The icelanders pull you in by there amazing landscapes but push you away from how dark the place can get.
