This is an intimidation tactic, the Wilbur uses his height (around 6'5-6'6) to intimidate the opponent. Flip a coin. Heads it works and tails it doesn't work on ranboo.

Comments : The wild Wilbur can often be found in biomes, or in pairs, often with the pokemon tommy, which is a younger evolution.
