Hernán Cortés was a Spanish Conquistador who led an expedition that caused the fall of the Aztec Empire and brought large portions of what is now mainland Mexico under the rule of King Castille in the early 16th century.

Attack 2 : Explorer
Hernán Cortés discovered Mexico, the Aztecs and the Baja California Peninsula. In 1511, Cortés went with Diego Velazquez de Cuella on a journey to conquer Cuba. Velazquez was then appointed governor of present day Cuba, and Cortés was appointed at a clerk to the treasurer at age 26.
